Just be present in the moment
A calligraphy salon to face your heart and your writing
Naramachi Calligraphy Salon “Tadaima”

Are you making time to reflect on your inner self?

The word “Tadaima -唯今-“ carries the meaning of “being present in this very moment” and “living mindfully.”

When people hear the word “calligraphy,” many may think they must write beautifully. However, what we value most is not just creating beautiful characters.

The act of moving your hand and writing letters helps organize your thoughts, calm your mind, and bring your focus to the “now.”

The scent of ink, the feel of the brush, the process of writing each character with care—
all of it becomes a time to reflect and connect with yourself.

Why not take a step forward into your future by facing yourself through calligraphy?
Through the art of calligraphy, we help you find peace of mind and the joy of expression.

Our Philosophy

Why do you want to learn calligraphy or penmanship?

I want to hold a brush again after a long time
I want to write beautiful letters
I want to improve my everyday writing
I want to enjoy it as a hobby
I want time to reflect on myself
I want a space to connect with others

People come to our salon for various reasons—children and adults alike.

I started this salon because I wanted to create a space where everyone can enjoy learning at their own pace.

My goal is to provide a relaxing space where people can experience calligraphy or penmanship without pressure.

Drawing from my training at a school that trains calligraphy instructors, I offer a unique style different from traditional calligraphy schools.
While respecting the basics, I hope to provide time for self-reflection and moments of peace through calligraphy.

The piece displayed on our website banner is a reproduction of a work by Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty in China.

Emperor Huizong was also known by the nickname “The Artistic Emperor” because of his deep immersion in the arts, sometimes to the neglect of his political duties.

At our salon, we hope you’ll forget the worries of daily life and fully immerse yourself in the world of calligraphy.
